BUILDING ASSETS IN OUR YOUTH
The asset that we’re focusing
on this month is Social Competencies: Planning/Decision Making. Some things we can do in the community to
help build this asset are: 1.) Have youth identify
something they’d like to change in the community, then develop a plan for
changing it. 2.) Train adult leaders to help kids through the decision making
process.
Last week’s idea of the week
was explain not making a choice. This
week’s is when your child receives a long-term assignment, help him/her plan
and make decisions to complete it on time.
FAMILY & FRIENDS IN THE MILITARY
We are encouraging your support for those in the
military and their families. We also ask for your prayers for those who have

WORKCAMP
We have a large number of people who will be attending
the mission trip work camp this year! We
are seeking to involve even more people back here in this missionary effort to
help others. You can help by being a
prayer partner, a “care-package” maker (cookies, snacks, magazine, card, etc.),
and/or a supplier of various tools they’ll need. Would you be willing to help in one or more
of those ways? (For the tools, you can
donate paintbrushes [any size], paint roller covers, paint trays, paint
scrapers, work gloves, and plastic drop cloths.
Look for the wheelbarrow in the entrance area in which to place the
supplies.) For the other ways to help,
look for the sign up in the bulletin or call the office. Questions? Call Gina Losacco
at 815-462-3571.

CALL PROCESS UPDATE We are now creating a list of things we think will
help Pastor Stan Bockwoldt in his move to our
area. We invite your ideas and
involvement! Here are a few, with more
to follow: invite Pastor Stan over for dinner (one time), provide a menu from
your favorite take-out/eat in places, take a turn praying for him, send him a card for his birthday (7/24). A master chart/list for inviting him to
dinner is now available in the entrance area or through the sign up. Thank you for your great support and
encouragement all along the way. He is
very excited about coming!!! |
